Megan Sundgren- Occupational Therapist
1. At which university did you study? I graduated with Bachelors in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town in 1994. I later obtained my Masters in Early Childhood Intervention from the University of Pretoria in 2004.
2. When did you join the Et Al team? I joined the team as a full-time occupational therapist in 2012.
3. Which settings do you currently work in? I offer a fine motor group programme at a pre-primary school, and one-on-one therapy at the practice. I work with children from birth to 7 years – the youngest was 3 weeks old. I work with any diagnosis, but I have a special interest in babies and children with sensory processing difficulties.
4. What do you enjoy most about your job? I have two favourite things about working with children – one is a child’s capacity to develop and grow when they get the right assistance and to witness their excitement when they achieve goals; the second thing is when parents get to see and enjoy their children’s progress and development and get excited for them.
5. Fun fact about you: I love crafts – knitting, sewing, colouring in, fabric painting, crochet, mosaics and my favourite – scrapbooking!
Franzéle Fairman – Occupational Therapist
1. At which university did you study? I completed my Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Western Cape.
2. When did you join the Et Al team? I am a new member of the team and joined the Et Al Team in the beginning of 2021.
3. Which settings do you currently work in? I work at the center mainly in the afternoons and offer one-on-one therapy for children up to the age of 10 years old. I love working with all kinds of diagnoses and I am always excited to learn new ways of helping.
4. What do you enjoy most about your job? My favourite thing about my job is being able to provide a space which enables and celebrates a child’s unique way of learning and development through play.
5. Fun fact about you: I love the outdoors! You can find me hiking a new mountain in most of my free time.
Bronwyn Lindsay- Occupational Therapist
1. At which university did you study? I graduated with a Bachelor in Occupational Therapy from the University of Stellenbosch in 2005.
2. When did you join the Et Al team? I joined the team in 2016 as a full-time occupational therapist.
3. Which settings do you currently work in? I work at Et Al mainly in the afternoons. I also work at two NGO’s that focus on children in impoverished areas. I work with children of all ages with developmental delays, learning challenges and disabilities. I have a special interest in community work.
4. What do you enjoy most about your job? I love seeing a child’s face light up when they realise that they can do something that they thought they couldn’t do before.
5. Fun fact about you: I love living in small rural villages – the more remote, the better.
Emma Kritzinger – Occupational Therapist
1. At which university did you study? Stellenbosch University.
2. When did you join the Et Al team? I joined the team in January 2021.
3. Which settings do you currently work in? I enjoy anything related to paeds.
4. What do you enjoy most about your job? I love that it’s varied, with each child and session bringing something different to my day.
5. Fun fact about you: I grew up in the Eastern Cape Karoo and think is stunningly beautiful.
