Telani van der Walt (Remedial Teacher)

1. At which university did you study? I obtained my Bachelors in Education (Foundation Phase) at the University of Stellenbosch in 2007, followed by my Honours Bachelors in Education (Learning Support) from the University of Stellenbosch in 2008.

2. When did you join the Et Al team? I am a full time remedial/learning support teacher, who joined the Et Al team in 2016.

3. Which settings do you currently work in? I work at Curro Sitari in the morning and at Et Al Centre in the afternoons. I work with children in grades 1-5 who need additional support in Afrikaans, English and Mathematics.

4. What do you enjoy most about your job? I enjoy working individually with a child, supporting them to achieve their full potential. It is a great feeling to witness a child experiencing a “lightbulb moment” – when they really understand the work for the first time.

5. Fun fact about you: I support and take part in the farm to table principle: hunt, butcher, process and prepare dinner.
